As part of our Create project, we linked our learning in Science about habitats and plants native to the Isle of Man with our collage artwork. We carefully observed local plants and thought about the different habitats where they grow. Using the collage techniques we have been practising, such as scrunching, folding, cutting and ripping, we created textured pieces of artwork inspired by nature. These techniques helped us show details like leaves, petals and grasses, while encouraging us to look closely at the shapes, colours and textures of plants found in our local environment. Through this project, we combined our scientific knowledge with our creativity to produce unique and meaningful pieces of art.
