On Thursday the 8th March, St Mary’s Eco Warriors visited Conrhenny Community Woodland to take part in the 2018 Tree’s for Life event. As a school, we have taken part in this event before, however 2018 marks the 10th anniversary.
Although the weather was quite cold, we had a fantastic afternoon getting muddy and planting new trees with the help of the Forestry staff. Well done to the children who got as far as planting 3 trees! You were excellent diggers! We were able to write our own names on the trees and hope we will be able to visit again once they have grown a little.
Many thanks again to all the adult helpers that came along, many of who, spent most of the afternoon digging deep enough holes for our pupils. Also, a big thanks to the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture for hosting this event.
