Yesterday, we were privileged to welcome His Excellency Sir John Lorimer, Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man to our school.
His Excellency spoke about his role as the Queen's representative and told us a little about his life before coming to the Island.
We got to see his army medals and his sword which is part of his uniform when attending formal occasions, he talked about his "big hat with feathers " too.
His Excellency showed us a special set of stamps the IOM Post Office has created to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
Our school council had prepared some questions to learn more about him and his role. The rest of the school were then given the opportunity to ask questions.
The most interesting question was rewarded with a beautiful commemorative Lieutenant Governor's Medal. The lucky recipient was Summer in Y6.
His Excellency then presented our Leaner of the Week and Swimming certificates. We had a fantastic assembly.
