St Mary's School

The children are at the heart of everything we do.

We had the pleasure of having Nick Chandley working in the school for two days. He facilitated a P4C enquiry with every class in the school.

Traditionally, P4C is the practice of philosophical inquiry with young people – a structured approach to the development of thinking. It helps teachers to facilitate student-led inquiries into topics that really matter to their students. It helps students to think independently, reason effectively, communicate persuasively and explore their values.

He will be back in November to train all our staff in Thinking Moves. Thinking Moves A – Z is a structured approach to thinking about thinking – a framework for metacognition.
