St Mary's School

The children are at the heart of everything we do.

At St Mary's we value Thinking Moves because we believe it is accessible tool for the children to develop metacognition. Thinking Moves celebrates that we all think in similar ways despite our difference. The children to access deeper thinking through being aware of their thinking processes and being able to utilise the moves. We find that Thinking Moves aids teacher explanations providing a clearer message for all children.

Thinking Moves provides a consistent language across the school. The children are able to confidently talk about their thinking and how formulate steps to achieve a task.
