Today, Year 2 became Number Line Explorers! We took our maths learning outside and worked together to create a giant human number line. We practised counting forwards and backwards, finding missing numbers and identifying numbers that come before, after and between others. We also challenged ourselves to find numbers halfway between two given numbers. The children enjoyed taking turns to stand in the correct positions and helping their friends complete the number line. We then used our new skills to complete number lines independently in the classroom. It was a fantastic, fun and practical way to develop our number sense, place value understanding and teamwork!
