Yesterday we had Anna from Manx Birdlife come into our class to help us make some bird feeders. She explained that the birds find it harder to find food in the winter.
We used pine cones, lard, sunflower seeds and dried mealworms!
We had to get stuck in, and mix all the ingredients together, then cover all the parts of the pine cone with the mixture. Our hands got very messy, some of us didn't like the feeling so the teachers and Anna helped us.
Once we had covered the pine cones they were placed in the fridge to harden.
They will soon be ready for our feathered friends!
