St Mary's School

The children are at the heart of everything we do.

As part of our learning we have set up a Vet's surgery in our classroom. The children have been taking care of animals treating their various injuries and ailments.

This week we were very lucky to have Immy visit our school. She is a nurse at a local Vets. Immy talked to us, explaining how she became a nurse, how she loves animals.

She told us about the various animals she had helped over the years, cats, dogs, hamsters, she even helps at the Wildlife park.

Immy played a game with us where we had to guess the animal from the x-ray. We managed to guess most, we even saw a hedgehog!

Then we helped to treat a dog who needed his leg bandaging. I think we could have some future nurses and vesting our classes.

Thank you Immy!
