This week we explored the traditional tale The Three Billy Goats Gruff, and the children loved getting involved in lots of themed activities.
In maths, the children built cube towers to explore one more and one less.
In writing, they created captions for pictures from the story using their phonics skills.
In the creative area, they made their own Billy Goats, each one brilliantly unique.
In construction, the challenge was to build a bridge strong enough for the goats to cross.
In playdough, the children moulded fantastic trolls, adding lots of detail.
In role play, the shop inspired imaginative conversations and money play.
At the tuff tray, children used props to retell the story, building confidence in sequencing.
Sadly, our trip to the library on Friday had to be cancelled — but we were delighted to receive a very special delivery of bookmarks for every child to decorate and keep, which brought lots of excitement to the classroom.
It’s been a wonderful week of storytelling, creativity, and hands‑on learning!
