We had so much fun on our recent trip to Douglas Fire Station. We were allowed to sit in the fire engines, have a go with the fire hose and even went up super high in the cherry picker! A huge thank you to Douglas Fire Station for having us and to all of our parent helpers for joining us.
We had a great trip to the Isle of Man Art Society on Friday. All children made a lovely clay portrait. Yesterday we visited Nobles Park for our first school trip of the year. The children created their own portrait using materials from the natural environment. A huge thank you to the Friends of St Mary's for our pancakes this morning. They were delicious! We spent some time today to learn about why we eat pancakes on this special day and discussed what some children are planning to give up for Lent.
On Thursday we had a visit from the Road Safety Team to learn some pedestrian skills. All the children learnt how to cross the road safely and dangers they should be aware of when crossing roads.
Wow! What a fun day we have had with Rock Kidz. All the children had so much fun whilst learning some of life's most important messages. Well done to Tiernan who took part in a children vs teachers dance battle, you did amazing!

Yesterday we had a visit from Isle of Man Cricket. We practiced a range of skills needed in sports such as balancing, throwing and catching and hand-eye coordination. We all had lots of fun! Thank you Mrs Quinn for organising and to Isle of Man Cricket for visiting us.

Yesterday we looked at our class Saint, Saint Francis. We discussed how saints are important as they have a special relationship with god. Yesterday we had a special visitor, PC Lou Kennaugh. PC Kennaugh spoke to us about what Police do and how they keep us safe in the community. The children loved trying on the Police uniform and sitting in a brand new Police car!

Today we invited Year 6 to visit our Art Exhibition. They asked us lots of questions about our Project and were very impressed with our clay faces and final portraits. We were able to tell them the Artists and skills we have zoomed in on over the last term.
