St Mary's School

The children are at the heart of everything we do.

Today the Reception Classes walked over to Nobles Park to look at nature in our environment. We are heading out of winter soon, and into hopefully, a slightly warmer spring!

We noticed the size and shape of the trees and how most had no leaves still . Mrs Caine did point out the evergreen trees that remain green all year. She told us how we gage an age of a tree by how broad the trunk is. We saw some young saplings to older trees and even some grandparent trees!

Some little primulas had been planted in the flowerbeds, and other beds are ready to be planted, we can't wait to see what beautiful displays will be there on our next walk.

The children saw the RNLI 200 celebration flowerbed which is still looking good a year later!

At the end of our nature walk, we had a quick play in the Tot Lot as it was our playtime !
