Goldilocks and the Three Bears
This week, the children enjoyed a range of activities based on Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Each area of learning linked to the story and gave them lots of opportunities to practise key skills.
- Maths: The children explored size by sorting and comparing small and big objects, just like the bears’ bowls, chairs, and beds.
- Writing: They worked on “What can you see?” practising writing simple lists using sounds they know.
- Fine Motor: Using tweezers to pick up small coloured bears and sorting into the correct colours
- Creative: The children painted scenes from the story, thinking carefully about colours and details.
- Play Dough: They created bear faces using play dough and natural materials, encouraging creativity and careful placement.
- Construction: Using blocks and other resources, the children designed and built beds that would be “just right” for Goldilocks.
- Role Play: The children reenacted the story together in groups!
It was a busy week full of exploration, storytelling and hands-on learning.
