We had a fantastic week learning all about Chinese New Year. The children enjoyed lots of themed challenges and worked really hard.
Maths: We explored doubling using Chinese lanterns and used careful counting to find each double.
Writing: At the writing table, we practised words with ee, ow, and oo, listening for the sounds and writing them independently.
Creative: The children made bright and colourful Chinese dragons, using different materials to design their own dragons.
Play Dough: We used play dough to shape Chinese numbers, learning how they look and practising fine motor skills.
Construction: In construction, the challenge was to build a wall as long and strong as the Great Wall of China. The teamwork was brilliant.
In PE, we enjoyed Chinese dancing, moving like dragons and celebrating the New Year through movement.
