This week our focus was “My House”, learning how to describe our environment. In maths, we matched Numicon to make number bonds to 5, and we took part in a fun Mathathon to raise money for school while enjoying lots of maths activities.
For writing, the children drew a picture of their house and wrote simple sentences about where it is and what it looks like. Our creative challenge was to draw a map showing where their house is, and in construction we built different kinds of houses.
The children also enjoyed role play in the home corner, a fine motor activity counting pom‑poms using tweezers, and some gardening, where we planted seeds and talked about how they grow.
