This week in Reception our focus has been “My Street”. We talked about the street we live on and the street where our school is. The children enjoyed sharing what they already know about their local area.
In maths, the children took on the challenge of making 10 using Numicon, finding different ways to build and explain their thinking.
For writing, the children drew pictures of our school and wrote simple sentences about where it is.
Our creative challenge focused on observational drawing, using natural objects such as leaves and flowers.
In construction, the children worked together to build a street, adding things they would like to see on it.
The role play area became a school, and on the tuff tray the children explored making patterns using elastic bands on boards.
We also had a fantastic PE lesson with Daniel from MSR out on the astro!
