We have enjoyed a fantastic Zog‑themed week in EYFS!
Writing: The children wrote captions and sentences for different images from the story, using their phonics to carefully describe what was happening in the story.
Maths: We counted and sorted dragons up to 20 and compared groups using “more” and “fewer.” The children were creative in their sorting - doing it by size, colour, fire and pattern!
Creative: The children explored tone and shade while creating vibrant fire pictures in red, orange, and yellow.
Construction: Using blocks and loose parts, the children designed and built an obstacle course for Zog and his friends to practise their dragon skills.
Role Play: Our role‑play area became Zog and the Flying Doctors, inspiring imaginative play and caring for “patients.” We loved wearing our teachers world book day costumes to get involved!
Fine Motor: We strengthened our hand muscles by squeezing the tennis balls to let them eat all the items in the tray!
Library Trip: We had a wonderful visit to the Manx Family on Friday. The children took part in crafts, joined in with songs, listened to stories, and used puppets to retell their favourite parts. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish!
